Our mission is to help people connect with Jesus

Our core values
Bible-centred
We believe the Bible is God’s inspired word and is the foundation for all life and our final authority. Every part of the Bible is useful one way or another — showing us truth, exposing our rebellion, correcting our mistakes, and training us to live God’s way.
(2 Timothy 3:16 and Psalm 119:105)
Prayer
We believe prayer is the foundation for all that we do. We believe that God always hears our prayers and answers them according to His will and purpose. We believe that prayer is the means by which we draw near to God and build a relationship with Him. We believe that God works through the prayers of His people to impact the world.
(1 John 5:14-15, Matthew 6:5-15, James 5:13-16, Matthew 7:7-8 and 2 Chronicles 7:14-15)
Evangelism
We believe the church exists to help connect people with Jesus, especially those who are not yet part of a church community. We believe both individually and as a church we are to be the hands, feet, and voice of Jesus within our community.
(Matthew 28:19-20, Acts 1:4-8, 1 Corinthians 2:1-5, Luke 10:1-24)
Discipleship
We believe individually and as a church that we are to grow in our faith in God and become like Jesus Christ every day in thought and action. We endeavour to love God with all our heart, soul, and mind, and we are to love others in our community as ourselves.
(Matthew 22:37-39, John 15:1-17 and Luke 9:23)
Worship
We believe worship is experienced both individually and corporately in many ways such as through praise, prayer, giving, communion, baptism, service, and the study of the word of God. We’ve all been created to worship God who is the only one worthy of our worship. When we come near to God, He will come near to us.
(John 4:24, Exodus 20:3-6, Matthew 4:10, James 4:8, Psalm 95, 100, 150 and Romans 12:1)

Meet our Pastor: Tim Clark
Tim has a long and meaningful connection to Peel Street Church of Christ. He grew up in this very church, where his parents faithfully attended, and it was here that he made a personal commitment to follow Jesus and was baptised.
Tim felt a strong call to ministry and went on to study at the Churches of Christ Theological College in New South Wales (now ACOM). Over the years, he has served in a variety of significant ministry roles, including:
In March 2018, Tim returned to his roots and was appointed as the Pastor of Peel Street Church of Christ — a homecoming he describes as a God-given privilege.
Tim is a dedicated father of four adult children and cherishes his time spent with them. He’s also a classic car enthusiast, especially when it comes to his much-loved 1964 EH Holden, and he is also a passionate supporter of the North Melbourne Kangaroos.
Tim brings with him a heart for God and a desire to see people experience a living and active faith in Jesus Christ. He’s excited about what God is doing in and through the church and is committed to leading with humility, faith, and vision alongside the Peel Street leadership and congregation.
Our Story
The Peel Street Church of Christ was established in 1869. Throughout its history, there have been many faithful people serving God here who have created the legacy that we enjoy today. Our buildings and many other things have changed, but our purpose to connect people with the life-changing message of Jesus Christ is unchanged. The church is dedicated to evangelism or sharing the good news about Jesus.
